Thank you for your support this year to the Orange Bowl Regatta in Miami.
Competing in the ILCA6 with heavy winds, rain, and chop in large fleets was an unforgettable experience. The challenging conditions made this regatta a unique opportunity to push my limits, learn valuable lessons on tactics in bigger fleets, and become an overall smarter sailor. Working the line on the crowded starts and managing the gusty winds was not easy, but I was able to maintain control and punch out in a good position every race. Getting around the course was challenging at times, but the speeds sailing to the reach mark was always a highlight and gave me time to refocus and evaluate where my position was in the fleet, and what my downwind strategy would be to maintain control in the gusts.
The high level of competition that comes to the Orange Bowl every year is something that I look forward to because it pushes us all to perform our best. Even though the long days are demanding, they always provide an incredible opportunity to grow and refine my heavy wind strategies.
Thank you again for the continued support from BYC and MSSF. I truly appreciate it and I look forward to next year and what Miami has to offer.
