Dear MSSF,
Thank you so much for your funding of my travels to The 2019 Spring Heavy Weather Clinic hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club earlier this year. It was such a fantastic opportunity to not only train in conditions I would later sail in at the Club 420 North American Championship, but to also gain valuable experience in crewing, to better understand how I can help my crews as a skipper.
By crewing at this clinic I was able to gain insight into the timing and functionality of the crew in a Club 420. Having this experience made me a more dynamic skipper and allowed my crew and I to have another sense of feel in the boat that would contribute to our success at the North Americans.
The Clinic was composed of three days of training from Friday to Sunday on the ruthless San Francisco Bay in the Spring. It was cold, windy, and hectic out on the water, but Reade Decker (Skipper) and I pushed ourselves to the limits over those three days to see how much we could learn in such a short amount of time. We came away with indispensable knowledge about the Bay and the boats, that we would have never gotten if we had not participated in this clinic. We would have not been able to participate in this event without your support. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Petersen
