The 2019 Heavy Weather Clinic was a great learning experience for me and my skipper. We spent three days on the San Francisco city front, which provided us with strong conditions that challenged our racing skills. An added benefit was that we were sailing at the same venue as where the C420 North American Championships would be held later in the year, so we were able to use the clinic as an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming regatta.
The clinic was led by four highly experienced coaches who helped us hone our heavy-air boat speed and boat handling skills as well as provide consistent feedback to us on the water and on land.
We would like to thank the BYC Maritime Sciences and Seamanship Foundation for their generous support that made it possible for us to greatly improve our racing skills.
