Once again over 200 guests dined on crab, corn, cole slaw and potatoes in support of the BYC Maritime Sciences & Seamanship Foundation. The event, hosted on by the Balboa Yacht Club Junior Sailors has become an annual affair with both live and silent auctions benefiting the Foundation’s Junior Sailing Fund. Big thanks to auctioneer Shaun Flanagan who made sure this year’s auction was action packed and lively. And this year’s silent auction stepped up huge with over 30 donated items. A huge thanks to Susan Kenney, Denise Petersen Katie Tinder and their team for putting on a truly awesome event!
BYC junior sailors served up the dinner with Balboa Yacht Club officers and directors rounding out the wait staff taking drink orders. The evening finished up with a slide presentation showcasing the 2011 activities, events and sailing successes of the BYC juniors, many of whom directly benefited from the Foundation’s generosity.
A huge thank you to all silent and live auction donors and big winners. And a big thanks to all the kids, parents and board members who made the evening really a fun event! Together we raised over $24,000 for the Foundation’s Junior Sailing Fund.
