I would like to thank BYC MSSF for the financial assistance which helped me attend the Junior Women’s Doublehanded Championship for the Ida Lewis Cup. This was an incredible opportunity to sail in a familiar venue against female sailors from across the country.
On our first practice day, we had an unusual 15 knot day, probably the windiest in San Diego this summer. However, throughout the regatta the pressure tended to decrease, with very light conditions on the final day. Luckily, having a crew who was a San Diego local definitely improved my boat handling in the choppy/swell conditions.
Our race results were mixed, but there was a definite improvement from last year. I also got the chance to meet a lot of fellow female sailors and had a great time. Thank you so much!
