I would like to thank the BYC Maritime Sciences and Seamanship Foundation for helping to fund my trip to the Orange Bowl Regatta in Miami where I represented BYC the last three years in the Opti fleet.

While I enjoy racing a Naples Sabot locally, the Opti has given me the opportunity to compete in the Orange Bowl, which is one of the biggest international your sailing events. When I arrived on practice day, I sailed in 25 knots of breeze, but by the last day of racing we could not complete a single race due to lack of wind. While the wind did not favor my heavier weight category, I still managed to finish 58th out of 220 in the championship fleet.

Thank you,
