Dear Balboa Yacht Club Maritime Science and Seamanship Foundation,

Bobby Savoie, Walker Banks & Ryan Davidson

I would like to thank you for your continuous support of my sailing campaigns nationally and now internationally.  As you know, I traveled to Cruising Yacht Club of Australia located in New South Wales, Sydney, Australia to compete in the 2011 Musto Youth International Match Race Championship. Coming along to sail with me was Walker Banks (BYC) and Bobby Savoie (Sail Newport, RI).

As you may know, Cruising Yacht Club (CYCA) has been a continuous competitor in BYC’s very own Gov. Cup for many years now.  When we first applied for an invitation, the CYCA immediately welcomed us with open arms.  They were so excited to not only have a competitor from the USA, but to have one from Balboa Yacht Club.  We were also excited to travel and compete in our first international match race regatta. Although we only placed 7th at this regatta, we were happy with our performance and our many close races. The competition, the weather, and the new boats proved very challenging for us. We learned a ton of from this event and cannot wait to use it towards future events.

Without your gracious support towards our match racing campaign, none of this regatta would have been possible.  Not only do I thank you for the support on this event, but for ALL of the support you have contributed to my sailing endeavors in the past and hopefully the future ahead.

A blog of our adventure can be found at rdsailing.blogspot.com.

Walker, Bobby, and I are very proud to represent the Foundation, Balboa Yacht Club and its membership.

Thank You,

Ryan Davidson
