Thank you so much for helping me to attend the Girls High Performance Clinic at St. Francis Yacht Club. I really appreciated the chance to sail on the San Francisco city front, in both the c420 and the 470. The first day of the clinic, we met our coaches, Allie Blecher and David Liebenberg, and had the opportunity to learn from Nikki Barnes and Lara Dallman-Weiss, who are campaigning for the Olympics in the 470. We worked on upper-arm strength and the logistics of reach sets. After some exercises in the 420, I got to try skippering the 470 with Laura, which was amazing. Then, we got to listen to a panel talk about professional sailing, Olympic sailing, and building a network. The next day, we sailed 420s all the way up to and under the Golden Gate Bridge. Conditions were a little more marginal and lighter than on Saturday, so we had some good practice in adjusting to keep the boat flat and fast. Overall, this clinic was an incredible experience and I am so thankful for the opportunity.
