We want to thank the BYC Maritime Sciences & Seamanship Foundation for supporting our match racing!
Colin Averill was up on bow and Dillon Lancaster was in middle. The team worked extremely well right from the get go. We had a great time sailing in San Francisco! We saw anything from 7-26 knots throughout the weekend. St. Francis put on a great event and the umpires were on top of their stuff. Saturday was a very heavy day and the teams that had more experience did well in the heavier breeze. Sunday was more like our conditions, but still a bit on the heavier side.
It was a great experience for all of us. Match racing in heavy breeze is something we all could use more practice in. The competition was probably some of the best that we had ever raced against. We were a little rusty with our match racing strategy since it had been a while and it cost us a few races on Saturday, but Sunday we really came together, got the boat dialed in, and did much better. Again we want to thank the Foundation and everyone at BYC for supporting us!
