I would like to say thank you very, very, very much for helping to fund me for the 2019 4.7 Youth World Championships. It was such an amazing experience to be able to compete at that level with people from all over the world. I definitely came out of the event learning a great deal and even though the winds were not in team USA’s favors, nor mine, we didn’t do to terrible…but we did not do great either. Personally, I figured out my strengths and weaknesses to a greater extent and know what to train for in order to improve for worlds next summer.
The winds at Kingston, Canada, were 0-3 knots one day, then blowing 25 knots the second day. There were girls there that should’ve been racing Laser Radials, however, when the winds kicked in, they did really well. I did well when the winds were light to 14 knots. Unfortunately, when the winds were light, they would call the race, and I was doing well. I made so many new friends that I will definitely see again later on in sailing – whether it’s a few months from now or a few years from now. Currently, I’m 58th in the World. A good start.
Again, I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity and I want to say thank you.
