CISA was a week-long intensive sailing camp with some of the best coaches from around the country. My crew, Nathan, and I decided to venture into different territory by participating in the i420, a new boat to us.

The training incorporated all aspects of sailing. During the morning, we started with a workout that would be followed with a talk from an established sailor. Eventually, we would make it out on the water.

Nathan and I really enjoyed our time on the water because we had never sailed i420s and we learned a lot. Much of what we learned in the i420 actually carries over to sailing the Club 420. The two boats are very different, but a lot of techniques mirror each other.

After sailing CISA, Club 420s felt very slow. Other than the first day, the entire clinic was light. Despite the light wind, i420s seemed really fast. Overall, the clinic was a great learning experience, and I am looking forward to incorporating the techniques I learned into my Club 420 sailing.

Thank you to the BYCMSSF for supporting my participation in the clinic, as it was absolutely worthwhile.
