During December my skipper Jack Roman and I participated in the 2019 Orange Bowl. We have sailed together for the previous summer and have spent time practicing during fall leading up to the event. The regatta was 4 days long and sailed in a large range of conditions from extremely light to a large amount of breeze.
Overall the race days were consistently more wind than we were used to practicing in. Despite being one of the lighter teams we were still able to keep with the fleet and make gold. As the regatta continued we were put in difficult situations with many learning lessons. On the last day we finished placing 57 out of 77. All though our finished result wasn’t as great as hoped for it was a fun and an amazing experience.
Thank you so much for helping me to take this opportunity. I will take all the things I learned and apply it to my future sailing.
