Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to sail in the 2019 C420 New England Championship and race against the best C420 teams. The hospitality of the venue was amazing, the weather was an adventure and the people were so nice.
For me, going into my freshman year at Newport Harbor High School, this was a big deal because I could see my ability compared to everyone else. This regatta taught me that I could get top 15 in a race if I pushed myself hard enough.
I would like to thank all of the volunteers for taking the time to help a bunch of teenagers get out on the water and sail. Without their efforts I would not have had this opportunity to learn from some of the best C420 sailors in the US. I had a lot of help from my coach (Will Brown). Going back east I was able to sail in different (shifty) conditions. This regatta helped me get prepared for the C420 North American Championship at St. Francis Yacht Club because I was able to sail in very confusing weather conditions. My favorite part of the regatta was the practice days.
Sailing with my skipper, Emma, was so much fun because we both learned a lot more and that will help the both of us in high school. Thank you again for allowing me to go on this adventurous experience.
